SLEEPING – AN ESSENTIAL ACTIVITY!

For humans, sleeping is an essential activity; we spend a third of our lifetime in bed. Sleepless nights are hard to hide.

The impact of sleep disorders and other sleep-related problems on our daily lives and health is continuously researched, alleviated, and treated.

Sleep-related disorders affect a person’s mood and health; sleep hygiene is reflected in people’s faces which, accordingly, can appear less or more attractive. Many have probably experienced how, after a sleepless night, the head feels dizzy, and memory and efficiency have slowed down. Less attention is paid to the fact that chronic sleep deprivation can lead to a more permanent decline in overall work performance and chronic illnesses.

BED TEXTILES AND PRODUCTS

Blankets, pillows, mattresses, and bedding are part of the tools that a person can use to improve sleep quality and, thus, support overall health and well-being.

In recent years, sleep products have advanced significantly. More and more functional materials are now used, which were often associated with sportswear before entering the bedroom environment. Just like in sports, there are also specific requirements in the bed environment, considering the fact that we spend 6-8 hours in one place. During this time, the body rests and regenerates. Therefore, permanent and easily achievable hygiene is crucial. The materials used in textile products have multiple functionalities aimed at promoting restful sleep and enhancing sleep quality, all tailored to the user’s characteristics and needs.

HOW DO MATERIALS AND THEIR FEATURES AFFECT AND PROMOTE OR HINDER SLEEP?

In seeking an answer to this question, we also started testing and analyzing our products to understand how the existing products affect a person’s sleep quality and the weight of that impact. Our goal is to offer people the most suitable products. It’s also important to understand the combination of sleep products and holistic solutions, such as how blankets and pillows work together with bedding. When a person decides to buy duvets, pillows, and bedding, it’s important to first determine one’s sleeping habits. When choosing a duvet, it would be helpful to observe oneself for a while to determine the sleeping environment—whether you sleep in a room that has cooler or warmer, alternating or constant temperature; whether you feel more comfortable with a heavier or lighter blanket; whether you’re looking for a product to use year-round or want separate blankets for the winter and summer, such as a warmer and thicker one for winter and a lighter and a thinner one for summer; whether you sweat a lot; whether it’s cold, for example, your feet; whether there’s an allergy to dust and dust mites.

When choosing a pillow, it’s important to pay attention to your sleeping position—do you sleep on your side, stomach, or back; similarly, do you sweat a lot; do you prefer a higher or lower headrest; is there tension in your neck area, i.e., do you need a neck and head-supporting and relaxation-promoting ergonomic product?

A mattress-topper adds both extra comfort as well as protection. It can make the sleeping environment softer and more temperature-regulating, and its presence extends the lifespan of the mattress. When choosing the main higher mattress, it’s important to choose a mattress according to one’s body weight, and you should consider whether you prefer a firmer or softer surface. With a continental double bed, also think of the needs of two people, which may differ from each other. In this case, you could consider a bed consisting of two different mattresses. There is a textile solution or product for every need.
